Repairs for bent tracks, worn guides, loose housings and damaged cables that cause binding, noise or gaps.
A screen that squeaks, binds, drifts or leaves gaps often has a problem in its tracks, guides or housing. A bump from a ladder, a column that shifted, sun-baked plastic guides or a loosened fastener can all throw the system off. Fixing the hardware often fixes the symptoms.
We inspect the housing, brackets, side tracks, cables and bottom bar and compare them to the original alignment. We straighten, realign, tighten or replace parts as needed, lubricate moving points with the right product and test the screen until it moves smoothly along its full height. We take a careful approach to alignment. A track that is out by a fraction of an inch at the top can be out by much more at the bottom, so we measure at several heights, use levels and straightedges and check the fabric edge as it travels. Small corrections made carefully give smooth movement that lasts.
Bent or twisted tracks can pinch fabric and cause noise. We straighten or replace them and check alignment top to bottom.
Cable-guided screens use tensioned cables. Slack, wear or a loose anchor can let the screen wander. We tension or replace as needed.
Loose brackets and sagging housings change the angle of the screen. We re-anchor and re-level them.
Guides, rollers and end caps wear over time. We replace worn pieces and lubricate with products that are safe for the fabric.
