The housing
A slim aluminum box, called a housing or cassette, mounts at the top of the opening. It holds the roller and motor and protects the rolled fabric.
When the screen is up, only the housing is visible.
The roller and fabric
The fabric wraps around a roller tube. As the tube turns, the fabric unrolls downward or rolls back up neatly.
A bottom bar adds weight so the screen hangs straight.
The motor
A tubular motor sits inside the roller tube. It turns the tube when it receives a signal and stops at preset limits.
Motors are quiet and compact.
Side tracks
Tracks run down both sides of the opening. They guide the screen and keep the edges tight. Zip tracks lock the edge in.
Tracks are what make a screen seal against bugs.
Controls
A remote, wall switch, keypad or app sends the signal to the motor. Sensors can send signals too, such as raising the screen in wind.
Controls can be grouped or separate.
Power
Motors run on household power, low voltage or battery with a solar panel. Each has its place depending on the structure.
We pick the option that suits your patio.
Think of a screen as a roller blind with strong tracks and a quiet motor, built for the outdoors.
