Careful measuring of every opening, beam and column so each screen fits true, hangs straight and seals along the sides.
A screen is only as good as its measurements. Patio openings are rarely square, beams sag a little, columns lean and floors slope. If a screen is built to a single rough number, the result can bind, gap or hang crooked. A careful survey prevents those problems before the screen is ever made.
We measure width at the top, middle and bottom, and height on both sides, then compare the numbers. We check levels and plumb, note slopes, find the best mounting surface and record clearances for doors, lights and railings. The survey also tells us whether a header, spacer or trim piece is needed to give the screen a clean place to hang.
Every opening is measured in several places. Differences show us how far from square the opening is and how to account for it.
We check that beams are level and floors drain in a way that suits the bottom bar. Slopes may need an adjusted stop point.
Beams, columns and ceilings are checked for solid material, so housings and tracks are anchored to something strong.
Doors, lights, rails, fans and furniture all need clear paths. We note them and plan the layout around them.
